In 2014, Chamber Choir Orfej celebrated its 25th anniversary. Since 1994, when they were invited to work with renowned Slovenian conductor professor Janez Bole, artistic director of some of the most prominent Slovenian vocal ensembles (e.g. Slovenski oktet, APZ Tone Tomšič, and Slovenski madrigalisti), the choir has also performed under the names "Slovenski madrigalisti" and "Gallus Singers".
As part of tours, competitions and festivals Orfej has held numerous concerts in Slovenia and abroad, namely in Croatia (2009), Hungary (1994, 2005, 2011, 2013), Poland (2008, 2015), Austria (1995, 1996, 2012), Belgium (2013), Belarus (2008), the Czech Republic (2004), France (1994, 2007, 2011), Italy (1995), Germany (1994, 1999, 2012), FYR Macedonia (2016), Serbia (2011), Spain (2003, 2006, 2010), and Switzerland (1995, 2008).
In recent years, the choir has also participated in several choral competitions and won numerous awards. It has become one of the most renowned choirs in Slovenia. Orfej once again proved this to be true at Slovenia's most famous choral competition Naša pesem (Our Song) in Maribor in 2010, where the choir was awarded a golden plaque and second place in the category of mixed choirs.
In October 2015 the choir participated in the International Choir Competition Varsovia Cantat in Warsaw, Poland. Orfej won the 1st Prize, the Golden diplom, and the Golden Lyre statuette.
This year chamber choir Orfej has taken part in the Naša pesem national choir competition, which is traditionally held in Maribor, Slovenia. With Andraž Hauptman as conductor, Orfej was awarded 94.3 points and the golden medal, as well as two other awards: the award for winning the overall third place at the competition and the award for best performance of a contemporary slovenian musical piece composed after 1995 (Uroš Krek: Vester, Camenae). Conductor Andraž Hauptman also received the special conductors' award for best programme.
At the "Ohrid Choir Festival" in Macedonia in August of 2016, Chamber Choir Orfej was awarded the first prize and a special award for best performance of a renaissance piece (for Zefiro torna by Claudio Monteverdi).
On November 19th, 2016, Orfej was part of the joint choir, along with Chamber Choir Hugo Wolf and Fiero Spirito from Maribor, which accompanied Andrea Bocelli at the Stožice venue for his first ever performance in Slovenia.
